Internet Browsers for Android

Android comes with the default android browser which pales in comparison to some of the other browser available on the Google Play Store. Along with the browsers, the following list has some other apps that will improve your Internet browsing experience on your Android.

  • Opera Mini : The Opera mini is the browser to have if you have a slow internet connection on your phone. The sites are often loaded from the cached version on the Opera servers and the websites open more quickly on this browser than on most other mobile browsers. The browser has a good interface with a start page with your favourite websites for quick access, easy to access back, forward and refresh buttons along with bookmarks and saved pages.

  • Dolphin Browser HD : Dolphin is a great browser to have on a fast phone with a good internet connection. The home page has quick links to your favourite websites that you can customize, the address bar also acts as a search bar like google chrome on a desktop.  Like for Chrome or Firefox on the Desktop the Dolphin browser allows you to load quite a few extensions or add-ons including Read it Later, Save as PDF, Tab history, Shiny Shake (enabling shaking the phone to switch tabs) etc. You can swype from the left of the screen to quickly access Bookmarks and History. There is also a voice recognition and a gesture recognition feature.

  • Chrome : Google’s chrome browser is very popular on desktops and now an android version is available. This browser has a lot of features including the ability to sync bookmarks with the desktop version and see what tabs are open on the desktop. Unfortunately this browser is available only for phones running Android 4.0 Ice-Cream Sandwich; so unless you have the latest version of Android, this browser is not for you.

  • ChromeMarksLite : This is not a browser. This app syncs with google chrome on the desktop and has all the bookmarks on your Chrome browser on the desktop. In case you do not have Chrome for Android, you can still access all the bookmarks that you have saved on Google chrome on the desktop and open them on your choice of mobile browser.
